I know I should have a better grasp on this whole sexual revolution somehow.

Isn’t it about over? Finished? Haven’t we made enough changes?

Recently I saw a young woman with very suggestive tattoos on her arms and legs…not under her shirt where no one would see them. But right out in public. She was a waitress at a diner in the city.

Maybe it’s because I live in a really small town, with a pretty conservative population, but I was really startled. I used to live in San Francisco, and thought I was pretty sophisticated. But I hadn’t noticed this kind of graphic “body art” before.

I think there’s been a lot of good for folks to loosen up a bit…and not be so stuffy about what is really a wonderful part of our lives.

For me it comes back to keeping intimacy intimate. I don’t mind seeing couples of all ages holding hands, giving one another a squeeze, or even a playful nuzzle or kiss. But visible anatomically correct “body art,” intimate groping, and explicit language belong behind closed doors, not out in public.

So, call me an old fogey…and don’t expect me to change. I like my (and your) intimacy intimate.

Please.
