I am not sure if you are new to the site, but I changed the theme in
May/June and am getting a great response.

I did do it myself, am not that much of a techie, and it still needs to have
a designer look it over and tweak it.

The Theme software I used is Builder from iThemes.com It is a do it for
yourself package that allows you to change almost everything with the way it
looks. You get the Builder theme and a “child theme” then start changing
things to fit your topic and presentation mode. I used the Fire child theme,
but you would never know it. It is totally different in look and feel,
except it had the underlying structure that I wanted.

So, go take a look at iThemes.com I bought the Builder combo package so I
could use it for all my sites and not have to relearn a theme as I go, not
have to hunt all over for themes I like, and mostly because I could change
just about everything to the way I wanted.

It does take a learning curve, but well worth it. You will need some work
arounds, for example I wanted a beige background for the site. Couldn’t find
a background I liked in all the free images on the web, finally downloaded
one that was close but too distinct a pattern and then really blurred it in
Photoshop Elements. I suppose a designer would be horrified, but I am not a
designer, just an old lady psychologist.
