Most of us were taught that sex was all about “do’n what comes naturally.”
Unfortunately for those of us who are still believers, just because sex is perfectly natural, doesn’t mean it is naturally perfect. And for those of us of a certain age, it often seems as if nothing is naturally perfect anymore.
The real truth is, great lovers are made not born.
Yet, most of us have learned our loving techniques, practices, and routines by trial and error. Mostly error. Or, by checking out those movies, or romance novels.
Again, not the most realistic or helpful of lessons.
Now, many couples who did pretty good, or even great, for years, find they’re struggling. Your lovemaking skills and activities may have worked then. But now, as you’ve gotten older, things aren’t as easy, as certain, or as comfortable as they once were.
To keep a satisfying and rewarding love life, with or without ED, as you get older means learning new skills, new techniques, using new “helpers” that you might never have considered before now.
Even if ED hasn’t been a part of your relationship, you’d still need to make accommodations to the inevitable changes your bodies have gone through, both yours and your wife’s. Biology has caught up with you. Ignore the changes and put your love life in peril.
The way you’ll keep your love life an important and satisfying part of your life is to develop new skills, use new tools, and cop a new attitude.
Remember your objective is a satisfying, intimate, meaningful love life.
Whether or not you have the granddaddy of all erections every time, or rattle the rafters. Or, your partner achieves earth-shattering orgasms. Aim for good enough, and allow yourself all the variations and points on the scale.
This article was adapted from Chapter 10, Do-It-For Yourself Improving Your Lovemaking Skills, of my latest book Keep on Love’n, all about how to make the changes you want for the greatest results to improve and keeping your senior love’n all life long. No matter how old you are or how old you get to be. To get your copy for your home library, just go to==>
