This is a re-run of a popular article from more than 2 years ago. It’s that time of year, so it’s a good time to remind ourselves that what we eat and how much we weigh makes a huge difference in keeping senior love’n satisfying and meaningful.

It’s simple: what happens in the kitchen affects what can happen in the bedroom.

So watch what you eat, and how much you eat, if you want to improve your love’n.

If you’re not careful, you’ll Read More→

Welcome Boomers

Tuesday, January 4th, 2011

In 2009 the big news was every 8 seconds a Boomer turns 50. That meant more than 10,000 people a day.

Today the news is a bit different: The first Boomers are turning 65, the “official” transition into senior status.

What does this mean for Boomers and Seniors?

In some ways they’ll both benefit, and both have some work to do.

Benefits include having a fair number of seniors to show the way, from how to figure out Social Security to how to stay healthy and keep on love’n.

The not so good news is that many Boomers are not as healthy as the average Senior, which can have all kinds of ramifications from more knees that need to be “done” to not as much action in the bedroom.

So, welcome to Satisfying Senior Sex, Boomers. THE web site with Read More→

Give the Gift of Love’n

Friday, December 24th, 2010

One of the most important gifts you can give your honey for the holidays is love and affection.

I routinely get notes from both men and women who say some version of

“I really love him/her, and I am pretty sure he/she loves me, but…”

Then they all go on to talk about how little their honey touches them, is affectionate, or has stopped making love with them. Some even talk about how their own advances are dismissed or ignored.

The really hard part of this, the reasons given for avoiding intimacy are often some version of we’re too old. Or, I just don’t have it in me any more.

If this is you, if this is your honey…give the best gift of all for this holiday season: tell them and show them you love them. Help them understand you aren’t too old for affection, hugging, kissing and even, dare I suggest, a little more action in the bedroom.

Stop avoiding the subject. You’ll be glad you did.

Friday Tips to Curb Holiday Eating

Thursday, December 23rd, 2010

This is the worst of the holiday season for too many people. They’re in the heavy eating month, taking one more bonbon, one more cookie, one more helping of Aunt Sally’s cream pie.

We all know we’ll regret it tomorrow. But far too many of us keep on eating.

Use these quick tips to curb your holiday eating and support more satisfying senior sex:

  1. Drink at least one glass of plain water in between drinking anything else, especially alcohol, egg nog, or sweet punch.
  2. Be sure to eat breakfast. Don’t let yourself get too hungry before a holiday party or dinner. You’ll eat everything that isn’t nailed down.
  3. Don’t beat yourself up if you slip and eat too many bon bons or too much pie. Just go easy the next day.
  4. Don’t get all righteous and tell everyone who comes within 10 feet how careful you are being and how disgusting all those guests who are stuffing their faces are. You’ll just get a reputation for being ornery.

Will all this mean you won’t gain a pound this holiday season?

Of course not, but you may gain a little less than you would have otherwise.

Have a good one…

Pat
